The curve of progress is my hypothesis on how an individual progresses in studies at college. This curve as shown in the figure is pretty simple. X-axis denotes the efforts put in and Y-axis denotes the benefits reaped. The whole graph is with respect to an average person (say a 7.5 pointer). The main reason for this is that the topper never considers topping as a big achievement, but it is an achievement compared to an average person. Same is the idea on left.
Lets consider the 1st quadrant. The benefits reaped by you are proportional to the efforts you put in initially, later on it is more than proportional and then it saturates.
Same is the case in 2nd quadrant . The difference is the efforts put in are of negative type, e.g. copying, hacking, etc. Initially the returns are good but later on they are saturated and you are in trouble. The benefits obtained by negative efforts are termed negative because in long term it will harm you.
The second point is that any positive efforts will result in negative results unless you cross point of inflection. There are two ways to be on the right of the point of inflection
1) To start from the right of the curve
2) To put positive efforts for some time if you are on the left side ( this quality is possessed by very few people also know as perseverance)
Simple as it may seem this curve is very important for everyone to determine where they are and how they should proceed. The apparent curve may vary depending on your position. So it is important to be judged by a neutral person. Who can be a better judge than me, right? So contact me on 9820993907 and know where you are!*
